The Spartan Drill Workout

Welcome to the Spartan Drill Workout (SDW). Our workout is a little different than most because it combines high intensity, heart rate calculations, and nutritional instruction that will transform the way you think, act, and perform both on and off the job.

The SDW is for beginners as well as advanced athletes.  Beginners can start with the Ramp Up Workout for 8 weeks.  After completing a test, they are ready to begin the full SDW.  Conditioned athletes can start the program on cycle and reap benefits immediately.  Either way, our staff of professionals will communicate with you in order to make sure that you begin your SDW journey on the right foot.

The Garage of Pain

The workout is a comprehensive, 3 phase, 24 week workout with variety, progression, agility, strength and endurance built into it. The workouts are emailed weekly to members with unlimited email support; as well as periodic newsletters and videos.

 Phase One: Endurance

The first phase of the Spartan Drill Workout is a progressive journey into hypertrophy/endurance, where muscles and the aerobic system are challenged slowly but surely towards the ultimate goal of increasing aerobic capacity and reducing resting heart rate. The core is readied during this phase for the onslaught of the following phases. Further total body conditioning during this phase readies the body for the following strength phase, with advanced interval style exercises designed to challenge the body while at the same time being entertaining to perform!

 

 Phase Two: Strength

During this phase, more challenging exercises are added to the mix with the introduction of longer lasting Kettle Bell exercises and advanced weight bearing full body exercises. This Russian tool is used in order to develop functional strength and instill a sense of pride and determination upon completion of each training session. Clients during this phase develop what some have called Orangutan Strength , or strength without the bulk or functional strength.

 

 Phase Three: Power

During the power phase, clients learn to apply their strength and endurance in new ways, emphasizing functional movements that build agility, speed, and most of all a useful and powerful mind and body. Routines during this phase are the most intense of all the phases but shorten in duration, to allow for maximum recovery. New exercises will be introduced and the program is continuously being improved by our experts.

 

The Spartan Drill Workout Philosophy

Once clients have completed the Power Phase of the Drill, they restart the Endurance Phase. In this way, the body s three main energy systems are constantly being challenged/rejuvenated by having different focus throughout the overall training program. Furthermore, interval training is accomplished within each workout during each phase. Maximum efficiency is accomplished by using the combination of this inter-phase and intra-phase workout method, and the body is allowed to recover and is constantly challenged!
